Education is changing. That’s where pi-top and Schoolstoreng come in - we’ve teamed up to get you started on computer science and computational thinking. As the first part of an email series, we put together a free whitepaper called ‘What is Computational Thinking?’ that will show you with facts and examples how wisely integrating technology into the classroom and STEAM education can change the equation for our students.

Do you agree that in a few years, the most required skills will range between programming, game design and creation, app creation, robot creation, digital manipulation of the environment & control etc…? our resumes will read different. Ok so we agree?

A few days back I was subscribing for a newsletter on one of these tech blogs and here comes this window asking me to prove I’m not a robot to proceed. It kept popping up and I, of course got to a point where I was almost screaming at my computer that I am not a robot. But this got me thinking of how far technology has evolved, how tech users sef have become afraid of robot invasion. Truly the robots are coming and a digital future Is imminent.

This summer Schoolstoreng LTD in partnership with Pi-top launched the initiative to teach children between the ages of 8-16 coding using python language and how to use the knowledge of coding to interface with their environment.

Camp opened with children getting a first-hand experience in engineering by building their own coding device using the raspberry pi, mother board, screen, keyboard and other components supplied. This generated a lot of excitement as they got a sense of fulfilment from creating their own computers and learning how each part of a computer works and interacts with the other.

My young niece, all of 10 years old, has her own iPad and is quite a pro at using it. She has a DSLR too because she is interested in shooting birds. And she used to help her journo mom with her blog.

In fact, she uses them with the same ease with which I used to play with clay and blocks as a child. She is a Millennial child.
